Well we started the year 2008 not knowing if or when we'd ever have another child. We are ending the year wishing he were here! This year has been quite the year at the Teeter house. For one thing we found out we were going to have another baby. We have finished 2 more semesters of school and both been accepted into the ISU Education Department. I have quit working all together and just go to school and be a mommy, which is so nice. Koen has grown so much and turned 3! He became potty trained this year, which trust me was a big feet on both his and my parts. We have turned the basement into the playroom I have been wanting for almost 2 years now and I still have toys upstairs, but it isn't a crazy disaster anymore. Oh and he can make as big of a mess as he wants and I don't have to look at it! We have remodeled the entire bathroom and retiled the Kitchen. Well I guess I shouldn't say we because Tyrell and his mom did the bathroom and Tyrell did the kitchen all by himself! Those are just a few highlights from our year. I am sure that 2009 holds a lot in store for us as well, especially since right off the bat we will be adding a new member to our family. His arrival is scheduled for Jan. 22, 2009 if I don't go into labor before that. I will try to keep you updated on his birth.

36 Weeks

Well today we are little over 36 weeks and have been to the hospital twice already! The first time was a while ago because I just felt funny and wanted to make sure everything was fine, which it was. This last time was this last Sunday. I went in having contractions and going into labor, which I wasn't sure I was, but it turned out that I was. They gave me a shot to stop the contractions because 36 weeks isn't considered far enough and since I was too far they didn't want to do the c-section just yet. They also found that I have a bladder infection which I found out can cause preterm labor, go figure. The shot was only suppose to work for 24-48 hours, but since they gave me antibiotics for the infection and had the shot by the time the shot wore off it seems the infection isn't causing preterm labor anymore. I guess this is a good thing, but I just want him out of me! At this point if he stays in just 5 more days he will be at the same point Koen was when he was delivered. I still have the cramping so hopefully the new little guy will come out soon!

Christmas

Our Christmas went well this year. This was the first year we stayed home and had family over to our house. We had Tyrell's sister and fiance, Stacey and Jacob, and his mom and then my parents were around for a while. We had a nice dinner and just sat around and enjoyed the day. Koen absolutely loved his train and surprisingly it was Tyrell and I waiting for him to wake up. Finally Tyrell went and banged on his door to wake him and then ran back to our room hoping he would come get us after he found his Santa present, but he didn't! He just started playing with it.

Koen's First Christmas Program

Last night Koen's daycare/preschool put on a Christmas program for the parents. I was worried that he wouldn't participate and things actually looked good for the first song and poem. Low and behold there was an upset boy behind him and Koen looked at him and boom the tears began. He wouldn't calm down so he ended up hanging out in the audience with us. Then Santa came and Koen followed him to his chair and stood there. I was shocked, I thought he'd be scared. When we got him to leave he was like I want my train! That is when I figured out why he wasn't scared, he thought that Santa had brought his train then, so we had to explain to him that he doesn't bring his Christmas present until Christmas.

A Big Boy Bed!

Koen got a big boy bed this week! I talked to my dad a couple months ago about some beds they have from when I was growing up and asked if I could have them since Koen is getting too big for his toddler bed. Not to mention Koen broke his toddler bed in more than one place. He said I could have them, but he wanted to paint them first. So I picked a color and he went to work. The first one is done and since we don't need the second one for a while I won't be asking about it. My mom brought it down with her this week and Koen was so excited! I got him a Wallie comforter for it and that made it even better since he loves Wallie.

Our Holiday Train

Well like our Halloween gingerbread house we usually do something similar for Christmas. Last year we found a gingerbread Christmas tree to put together and decorate. This year we found a train and since Koen has a HUGE obsession with trains we did that this year. He was so excited and every day he thinks he needs to sit right on top of the table to look at the train. I keep having to remind him that it is just to look at and not touch. I am sure if I let him it would be destroyed because he would try to play with it like he does his other trains. On a side note he makes sure to tell me everyday that Santa is going to bring him a train on Christmas (good thing that is what is hiding downstairs, huh?).

The Fort

I came home from class the other day to find a big fort in the living room and two cute boys hiding in it. This is one of Tyrell and Koen's hobbies you could say. They love to build forts or as Koen calls them houses and they love to hide from me. Last time they build a fort they would hide in there and run out and spank me and then run as fast as they could back to the fort. I have no idea what I am going to do when there is three of them and only one of me.

Funny Koen
I just wanted to post some funny stories about Koen lately. Last night Tyrell told him to go to the store and get him some ice cream, joking of course! Well Koen told him he couldn't because he didn't have shoes. So then Tyrell told him that he didn't have shoes either and Koen pointed to the shoe bucket and said right there. Then Tyell told him to put his shoes on and go to the store and Koen was like no it's far away! He is so funny sometimes! Then this morning I told him to get his blanket and baby (his little pooh bear) so we could go to school. He told me he didn't want to take his blanket and baby because they would get cold. What a smart little stinker. Then he was like wrap my baby in my blanket so he doesn't get cold. He went to school with his pooh bear wrapped up in a blanket so it wouldn't get cold.

Our Christmas Tree!

'
Today we put up our Christmas decorations! It was so much fun! Koen loved it and he says it's his Christmas tree not ours! He is so silly. I always love our tree and then the next year I do something different so I don't know why I always fall in love with it, but never do it again! I think I just like to try new things. I also got out the stockings I made last year and still love them so next year I guess I will just have to make one more, for little Ethan (if we really name him that).

Our Eventful Thanksgiving
We went to Thanksgiving at Tyrell's sister's house this year. The food was delicious like usual! There were a couple events to make the day memorable! First when it got dark they had some fireworks to shoot off. Well it was only 6 when it got dark so we went out and watched fireworks and kind of joked about the cops showing up because they were illegal fireworks. The funny thing is about 10 minutes after shooting them off a cop did show up! It gets better though, my sister-in-law who was also there works for the police department. Well out of all the cars to choose they choose her plates to run. No one got a ticket though because luckily my brother-in-law whose house we were at knew the cop that showed up. About an hour after that one of the odd family members, we'll say shows up and starts telling stories about outrunning the cops last week and getting arrested a few days later. He is such a weirdo! Then he starts talking about this married lady he says he is in love with and she in love with him and so on. He says man it's true love and we just all started laughing. I am glad he doesn't know where I leave! He is a freak! So that was my Thanksgiving!

Our 3 Year Old!

Last Friday was Koen's 3rd birthday! We didn't celebrate it until Sunday though. He had such a fun party! He and his twin cousins had fun with the pirate ship pinata that I found for the party. It didn't want to break though. Tyrell had to finally make a hole in it so that they could finish breaking it. The three of them were so funny to watch. He also had a train cake of course! He thought it was awesome. Tyrell and I on the other hand had a really hard time frosting the stupid thing. It turned out pretty cute though. The cars were just so little and then trying to get the sides and line it up was a lot harder than we thought it was going to be. He got some pretty cool Thomas the Train stuff from his grandma's and great-grandma. He also got a cool coloring book with crayons, a basketball hoop, a bowling set, the Elefun game, and a new drawing board. He got lots of fun stuff! He asked me this morning if I had seen his train movie. This was to let me know he wanted to watch it again, even though he already watched it about 3 times before bed last night. He is so funny now that he understands what a birthday is. He was grinning so big when we sang happy birthday to him and then he and his cousins blew out the candles. He is such a big boy!

Learning to Dress Myself!

Apparently Koen has decided he needs to learn how to dress himself. He has been adamant about his shoes a lot, though he never puts them on the right feet, but I was surprised when I saw him with his pants on backwards. The first time I saw this was last weeks when I went to pick him up at daycare. He had them on backwards again the next day when I picked him up. I thought maybe they had just told him to do it instead of helping him. Well this morning I got up to find Koen lying on the living room floor awake. He stood up and said "look mom I got pants!" He had gotten pants and they were on backwards again. This time I took pictures because it is so cute. He has been known to come up from daycare with his underwear inside out, backwards, and just about anyway imaginable, but now we have pants too!

30 weeks

Here I am at 30 weeks! I am getting really big and feeling it. We have 9 weeks at the most left since the doctor said he will do the c-section at 39 weeks. It seems like it is going by so fast.

Koen's 3rd Birthday is Coming Up and His Major Obsession With Trains!
I can't believe how big my little baby is getting! He can use the toilet, feed himself, undress himself, talk back, remember lines from movies (the ones he watches over and over) and act them out, run away from me in the grocery store, sit in a booster seat in the car with just a seat belt, and many more things. He is going to be 3 in a couple of weeks and that seems so weird! Where did all the time go? Today I took him to the grocery store to get a few things and one of them was some cake mix for his train cake. I let him pick it out and of course he picked funfetti cake mix. Ever since then he has been asking me for his birthday and while he was supposed to be sleeping at nap time I could hear him singing loud and clear in his room "happy birthday to you! happy birthday to you!" It is so funny what he picks up on and he definitely knows what a birthday is and that you get to eat cake and that there is presents. He is having a train cake this year because he is obsessed with trains! I can't get it out of his head. It all started when I was having some really bad morning sickness over the summer for a couple weeks and my mom took him for a few days and bought him a train. Ever since he has been stuck on them. Train everything! He watched Polar Express so much that he quotes it. He also tells us there are tracks in the bathtub with him and often takes his Thomas the train into the bath with him. He also uses whatever he can find to make tracks and if he finds any piece of paper it is a ticket to get on the train. You don't take his ticket! Anyway so I couldn't think of anything better than a trian cake and then I found one of those cakes that is like cupcakes and you line them up to make the cake and it is a train so he will have a train with a bunch of train cars trailing behind it. I will post pictures when it's his birthday, don't worry. Oh and just wait until you see what he is getting for Christmas, we are pretty sure he isn't going to want anything else when he sees it!

Halloween

Koen got lots of candy today trick or treating in old town. All the businesses in old town give out candy from 3 to 6 on Halloween so that is where I take Koen because I don't trust other Pocatello neighborhoods. This morning he got to go to some businesses around his daycare as well since they took them around. He didn't really want to wear his costume, though. He tried to pull it off and wouldn't wear his hat. Oh well he got over it, not the hat though. He got so tired he fell asleep in his candy bag in the car. It was a fun day!

27 Weeks 5 Days
I am getting bigger by the day I think! My ribs hurt every night so I must be growing every day. He is getting big enough that you can see him moving on the outside and sometimes he kicks hard enough that I jump. This one may possibly be bigger than Koen, we will have to wait and see, but he certainly feels big!

Good Luck Daren

Daren went into the MTC today! I just wanted to say Good Luck! I know he won't read this, but I thought it would be nice to write about it. He is going to be a great missionary I am convinced! He gave a wonderful talk in church and has been looking forward to serving the Lord for some time now. He will do great! I love you, Daren! Your an awesome example as my little brother!

Halloween Cupcakes

Today was Daren's "talk in church". He did a really good job and now he will leave in just a few days for the MTC to learn Spanish and prepare for the actual mission. I managed to somehow not cry until I got in the car to come home. It is sad, but I realize that he is doing a really good thing and before I know it he will be home. He is going to be a really good missionary. Tyrell and I made Halloween cupcakes for the lunch after his talk and they turned out so cute! At least we think so so if you don't save it and don't ruin our excitment! It was really fun to do this with Tyrell. Most husbands would never want to decorate cupcakes until 11 at night, but mine does! He is really good at it too.

Koen's Pumpkin

I decided to let Koen paint a pumpkin this year and he loved it. He didn't want to put any color but green on it though. He didn't want to stop when I told him it was time either. I let him paint on paper when I thought his pumpkin had enough layers of paint on it! He is such a silly kid and he loves to paint!

Feeling the Pregnancy

So last night while I was lying in bed I decided that it has snuck up on me that I am getting big and uncomfortable. I guess I don't remember it happening so fast last time, but we are definitely there! Tyrell told me hey your are like three quarters done you know! It's crazy! I can't roll over without pushing myself over with my arm nor can I sit up using stomach muscles anymore. My ribs are sore as all get out and I am getting huge! I remember this from Koen, but I think you forget what it actually feels like until you're there again. It is nice to know he is getting big though. The doctor says I am measuring right on for where I am so that is really good news. We are at almost 26 weeks, which means only 13 more to go because the doctor said he is going to do the c-section at 39 weeks. Those 13 weeks are going to fly by I have a feeling, but I can't wait to meet our new little addition. I secretly hope this one is a mommy's boy since Koen is totally a daddy's boy!

Pumpkin 2008
Last night we carved our pumpkins for the year! Koen actually wanted to help scoop out the pumpkins guts this year! He also kept trying to carve with me, but he kept grabbing the blade of the knife so I just had him watch. He just couldn't understand that he was going to get big owies if he grabbed there and continued to do it. He claims the pumpkin I carved is his pumpkin, it looks like he did it though so I guess it's okay. This morning when I was walking out with him to take him to his "class" (daycare) he said "look it's my punkin!" He is getting so big! I can't believe we have reached the point were he wants big kid toys and understands birthday's and small concepts about holidays! Tyrell and I were talking about how not much longer and we won't be able to discuss his Santa Claus gifts in front of him. Oh well, that is what they do, GROW UP! I just hope we do a good job teaching him right and wrong and responsibilty! He is going to be a GREAT big brother in a couple months!

Halloween Gingerbread House

Last year I started a tradition I guess. I bought a kit to build a Halloween gingerbread house with Koen and this year it felt like I just had to do it again. Then while we were doing it I started talking about doing it next year so I guess without even knowing I was doing it I made a tradition for our family. This year Tyrell helped us decorate our house, more like Tyrell and Koen decorated while I took pictures, but hey we were all there. The boys seemed to have a lot of fun doing it and Koen didn't want to be done. At one point Koen took charge of the icing and started putting it all over the house. He pretty much decided what the outcome would be. He told Tyrell where the icing was to go and then the candy. Although we did put some on on our own he did most of it. Personally I think our little house is cute. You can totally tell that a 2 year old made it, but it's still cute! Oh and the black stuff around his lips is the icing, which he tasted!

Some Fun Things Koen Has Been Up To

Koen has been having fun rocking his baby, making cookies, and playing in trees with Grandpa. Every time I try to sit in MY new rocking chair Koen tells me his baby is crying and he need to rock it! I just think it's cute so I let him. He also had tons of fun cutting out and frosting sugar cookies the other day. We took them to my Mom's this last weekend and told everyone eat them at your own risk because he sure liked licking the frosting. He even took a big bite out of one of them! While we were at his Grandma and Grandpa's he got Grandpa to go play with him outside like usual. I looked out the window and what saw was a very happy Koen in the tree. My dad had lifted him up in the tree and he sure didn't want to get down!

Tyrell's Birthday

Tyrell turned 27 Saturday! He shared his birthday with my Grandparents anniversary party. My Grandpa kept telling him that he had a big birthday bash! People came he didn't even know! Koen helped him open all of his presents, of course. He had a ninja turtle cake that I forgot to take a picture of, sorry. We left Koen with my parents and went out to dinner that night. It felt weird because we weren't having to keep track of Koen and try to make him eat. It was GREAT!
