Fall

Fall is here! The kids are already having trouble with the idea that they can't play outside as much, and that if they want to play outside they need shoes, pants, and jackets. Kai is a firm believer of running around in underwear only (many of you know that) so it has been rough on him to wrap his head around the idea that he needs cover up when he goes in the backyard. If it's this bad I guess I need to be a little more aggressive with the fact that running around that way is unacceptable anyway and at any time. I swear that I get the boy dressed every morning, sometimes twice, but he still ends up in his underpants. I don't know how to get him to leave his clothes on. Kael stands at the door and cries until I give in so they have still been outside, but I watch the time really close because I really don't want all the ear infections and colds again.
Last night the kids were in heaven because not only did I let them outside, they got to carve pumpkins too!!! Well to be real honest they helped clean out the pumpkins (except Kai) and Tyrell carved them all because according to Kai "mom is a girl" I am not sure if that implies girls can't carve or they aren't supposed to carve, but oh well!
This is Kai's sad face because, like everything else he does, cleaning the pumpkin is too hard and he can't do it, he needs help!

We had Koen digging in. I think he was more excited about this project than any of the others.
Havyn started daintly doing hers, but I guess it was taking too long because she lost interest real quick.

Kael was happy with the bike. He didn't need to be involved I guess. This is a complete Kael attitude so we were fine with it! I think he did scoop one spoonful out.

Here are some pictures of finished products.

And this video is just plain hilarous! You know the show kids say the darnest things well this fits it perfect. This is how Koen feels about Tyrell's carving job on his pumpkins.

Alicia Had A Birthday

So last Friday I had another birthday. I would have to say that this was one of my favorite birthdays so far. Most of the kids are old enough now to understand. I think for Kai it was more exciting than his own birthday. He kept telling me "it's my mom's birthday today" then he would say "where's your cake? We can't have your birthday without a cake!" Finally I had to take him to Winco to get a cake mix so we could bake cupcakes for my birthday. He was so funny! First thing in the morning when Havyn woke up he told her, "it's my mom's birthday so you can't scream today." This made me smile because Kai is always saying my mom like I am not anyone else's mom too. After an entire day of hearing my mom's birthday this my mom's birthday that I got to go out with my hunny on a night away. It was super fun!!! First we went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse. I should have known better than to go there on my birthday since Tyrell works there, but oh well. Secretly I enjoyed the attention. Shh....don't tell anyone!  They made me sit on this saddle they bring out for birthday people. I am pretty sure the average person doesn't get the kind of treatment they gave me though (being Tyell's wife and all). So I am on the saddle and like every server in the restraunant is surrouning me and Tyrell does the call out to get everyone's attention. He was extra loud about it too! He says something about how his beautiful wife is celebrating her 27th birthday and could they all give me a Texas Roadhouse ye-ha. I really think my face was probably as red as a bright red tomato at this point. So embarrassing, and really did he have to tell everyone how old I am? I think every person in there heard and saw the comotion. After getting through that I wanted to go bowling. You see Tyrell and I have never gone bowling since we have been married (we discovered this as we were thinking back). It was so much fun, and Tyrell really isn't that much better than me at bowling so I think we could easily do it again.

Silly Kael

Love this cute video that shows Kael's personality so well!

Halloween Crafts

So the other day Koen had a rather long testing appointment and we had a small break while they discussed results so we went shopping. I saw a craft store that I hadn't been in and decided to go check it out. While in the store Koen found some wood halloween figures to paint. He wanted to buy one for everyone to paint. They were $1 so I told him to pick one for the other kids and himself. They were so excited and made quite a mess, but it was so worth it, and they have these for memories now.

A New Table

Our old table had been around since Koen was only a few months old, and only had 4 chairs. To say the least it had seen way better days. We had been talking about getting a new one come tax return time, but when Havyn knocked over one of the chairs (leaving us with 3 and a family of 6) we broke down and went to look. Tyrell and I were sick of eating our food on the floor next to the table anyway! We found this marble top one that looked sturdy enough, and it came as a 6 piece set which was exactly what we needed, so we purchased it and set up a time to pick it up.
Well 3 days after setting it up I come home to find this.

Now I tried really really really hard to get rid of the marks, but it just wouldn't come off. I started to freak out. I even called the store and asked what to do to get rid of it. I kept calling trying to figure out what to do because this table wasn't cheap and I didn't want it ruined before we'd even had it a week. Finally after many phone calls and lots of me being grumpy they finally tell me that this table never had a sealant put on it. I told them that that wasn't my fault and that if they don't tell the customer that then they assume it's sealed. They were nice and agreed to let us exchange the table for a different one.  So we set out to pick a new one.

They delivered this one free of charge! My sister happened to be here when they delivered it and moments after we both had a seat on the bench and it snapped. Now that makes you feel fat!!! Luckily the delivery men were still here. They took it back and set up another delivery. So 4 days later on delivery day it is around 7 a.m. and I am still laying in my bed trying to convince myself to get up and get in the shower before the little ones wake up and Koen come running in (wearing nothing) to let me know that 2 guys are here and they have the bench. I think he must be wrong, since it's so early, and I haven't recieved a phone call, and so I ask him if he is sure. He says he is and so I come downstairs and look out the window. Then I realize the door is unlocked, and I ask Koen if he opened the door, and he says he did. So then (remember he is wearing nothing) I ask well were you dressed, and he replies that no he wasn't dressed. Oh my, talk about embarrassing! Trust me we discussed that number one it isn't okay to open the door that early in the morning for anyone, and two never without clothes on. And yes, there is a plastic cover on it, I am scared to death to see what my kids will do to it.
