I put this up for the great grandparents more than anything. She isn't doing anything, but laying there obviously, but I thought it might be more or a real experience if there was a video. I also took this video for poor Koen, who is so confused about why he can't see Havyn, but she's out of my mommy's tummy. He broke down, and cried when my mom and I left to see Havyn today because he wanted to go so badly. They said that once they can get some of the tubes, and equipment off of her we will be able to take her to the window to let the boys see her. As of now we can't even hold her. She is still about the same other than her right lung is not filling up with air like it should. The left lung was the problem before and still has the tube in it because of the problem with the right lung. They had to put her back on c pap, which is the thing that is on her nose, instead of a regular oxygen mask to try to resolve the problem in the right lung. As for what they do for it, we aren't really sure, other than the Dr. said that a lot of times these resolve on their own, it just takes time. They took a second x ray after putting her back on the c pap, and the lung looked a little bit better, so we hope this does the trick. Once they get the respiratory stuff under control they will start really slowly trying to feed feed her through a tube that goes down through her nose to her stomach. For now, they are giving her what she needs from an IV. I never knew they could give fats and things this way, but thank heavens they can.

Havyn Update

Havyn had a pretty rough night and morning. At about 4 am today she had some major breathing issues so the doctors took an X-ray and saw she had a bunch of air outside her lung on the left side that had pushed her left lung closed and had pushed her heart all the way onto the right side of her body. They put a breathing tube in her mouth and then they used a small syringe in her chest to remove the air.( The white patch in the photo is where the syringe was.) They kept getting more and more air so the decided to put in a chest tube with some suction to keep the air out. She also has some lines going in her cord/bellybutton that they use to monitor her blood pressure, her gas-blood level, and to give her lipids and such. You can also see a gray box thing that is giving her two different antibiotics as a precaution because of all the procedures she has had this morning.

Havyn Marie Teeter

Havyn is here and doing well. Mom is doing great and getting some rest. Havyn was born at 12:56 and weighed 5lbs and 7 ozs. She is in the NICU right now because she is having a hard time breathing. Her respiration's should be under 60 and her's were about 120 when she went in. She is doing much better now with the oxygen and tubes so we are hopeful she will get to leave the NICU sometime soon.

Havyn Is Coming Early

Today I went to my appointment, and was told that the fluid level is now under a 5, which is very dangerous, so they have decided to get Havyn here. She will be born tomorrow, Jan. 27th. Last week she weighed about 5 pounds 14 ounces. I am expecting her to weigh a little over 6 pounds, hopefully. This is a good thing since she will be born at 36 weeks 2 days. I am nervous about her lungs being ready at this point, but it's better for her to get here, and get healthy than stay in there. She has run out of room, making her have decreased movement. She's probably going to be so glad to stretch out when she gets here. I just pray that she is ok, and things go well. It seems like every c-section I have I get more nervous. It should be the opposite you would think. I am just so glad to have Tyrell there next to me. He reassured me that everything would be fine last time.

My New Hobby

Tyrell saw that I ordered some flower clips for Havyn and was like "hey you could make those". And now he has a flower clip making monster! Here are some I have done.

Kai's 1st Birthday

Our big man, Kai Ethan, turned 1 today! He really is a big man too! He is currently wearing 24 month clothing, walking, saying uh-oh, shaking his head no when someone tells him no-no, and attempting to say no-no as well as bye-bye. When I got out the Gerber Graduate Little Entree tonight for dinner instead of baby food his face lit up like you wouldn't believe. He had a great birthday with some family to help celebrate, and of course give him lots of good presents! His favorite seeming to be the cups my Grandma and Grandpa got for him, simple, but the best in his eyes! He is such a little joy to our family. He keeps us on our toes, and is the happiest little guy around, even when he's sick! We sure do love him, and I can't believe it has been a year! They grow so fast! He will be an awesome big brother to Havyn even if he doesn't seem to understand or really like her at first.

Another Havyn Update

I went to the Dr. this morning and had another ultrasound. No pictures, though. At this point nothing has changed and I have still gained no weight. The Dr. says I'm still measuring small as well, and he is going to continue to check me every week with ultrasounds. Next week they will check her growth and see if she is small as well. If she is small and the fluid is still low, he said he may have to deliver her earlier. He said that if she is small and low fluid that usually means there is something wrong, such as she isn't getting what she needs anymore, and it would be best for her to be born. We'll keep our fingers crossed that she is normal size. I will at least make it to 35 weeks, which is better than 34 or lower so that is good! We have things ready just in case. And something interesting from the ultrasound today, was that the tech pointed out that she could see hair on her head, so she will be born with hair.

Havyn Update

I better get this ultrasound picture up so that my mom and Grandma can see it. So I'll give everyone an update on why I even have a new ultrasound picture. A couple weeks ago I headed to the doctor to discover that I had lost 3 pounds, making my total weight can this pregnancy 3 pounds, and I was measuring small. The doctor was concerned and sent me to ultrasound. During the ultrasound they checked for growth and found that Havyn is measuring normal size, but that I have pretty low levels of amniotic fluid, making me measure small. The doctor decided to see me again in a week and repeat the ultrasound. We did that and nothing, not even my weight changed. He said that as long as my fluid levels stay above 5cm, which mine are 6 cm, I should be ok. If they don't I'm not sure what will happen, but from what I've read it's not good, and they may have to take the baby early. As for now, I go in on Tuesday for yet another ultrasound to see where I am. I'm not too concerned that things will change for the worse, and the baby will mostly be born on the scheduled day, Feb. 11, I will go in for my c-section.
