2009 In Review

2009 brought a lot to the Teeter house! What a year! We started the year awaiting the birth of our Kai Kai Ethan. He joined the family on Jan. 20, 2009 at about 4:30 am. Bright and early, just how he wakes up these days! So we'll just start with Kai's year, since I'm already talking about him. He was born with a very different look than his brother, but the more we look at him and he grows, the more he and Koen look similar. Kai loves his food and eats so much that he weighs 25 pounds, putting him in the 95th percentile. He also just started walking, and his first word is uh-oh. He is full of personality, and loves to laugh. Koen loves being a big brother, but not the sharing part. He loves to make Kai laugh, but also loves to take his toys away. Anytime Kai has anything, whether it's his or Kai's he thinks he needs to have it. Luckily Kai is laid back and really doesn't mind when Koen trades him. Koen turned 4 this year, and man is he 4! He is crazy as ever! Recently he likes to cut, color, do puzzles, and play with play dough. He is always up to something, and if you don't hear him for a few minutes you better find out why! He has grown up so much this year, and amazes me everyday with new words or things his does. As for Tyrell and I we have had quite the year as well. I was supposed to take my last semester of classes this spring, and plans well they can change in the blink of an eye. This last June we got the surprise of our lives! We found out there was another little one coming to join our family, and we had a 4 month old. I thought the tests were lying and that there was no way this could possibly be happening! Tyrell was super excited, of course, as he has always wanted a huge family. So instead of taking my last semester of classes I will be having a baby in Feb. 2010, Havyn Marie Teeter. I am assured that she must need to come at this time or she wouldn't be, so give me strength! We both have 2 semesters of classes left, and student teaching. It's getting so close, and I have to say I'm kind of scared. It's nice to see a light at the end of the tunnel, though. Tyrell is still working at Pizza Hut, and I'm staying home trying to be a good mom. Some days I wonder if I succeed, but my kids still love me, so I guess I'm doing an ok job. I also have to pat myself on the back a bit because I have managed being a mom, and still getting mostly A's in my classes. I'm really proud of myself. In fact the semester I had Kai I still made the Dean's list. With every kid I have I seem to get better grades. I don't understand it! Tyrell also did an AWESOME job this last semester and got all A's and 1 B! I was really proud of him for that too! We look forward to the new year and all it brings!

Christmas 2009

Christmas was wonderful at our house, minus me getting sicking and throwing up that morning. Both of our families came to visit, and we even got to talk to Daren! He sounds so mature to me. I can't wait until next year when he'll be here for the Holidays. Koen of course got Diesel 10 from Santa. Kai got a lion toy with balls from Santa. They of course, got spoiled by all their aunts and uncles and got lots of other cool things. Koen got a train that he absolutely loves from his aunt Gaylynn. It's even remote controlled.

Santa's Cookies

Koen made cookies for Santa today, and I sure hope he likes sprinkles!

Christmas Gingerbread House

Last night I finally got around to doing this gingerbread house with Koen. I've had it for like 2 weeks, but then got busy with school, and sick. For my sanity it was hidden, though. He was so excited when I pulled it out. I think he ate more candy than he actually put on it, but that's how these things usually go.

We scheduled the c-section today! It is on Feb. 11, 2010. So about 9 weeks and the boys will have a baby sister.

Our Tree

Here is the tree this year. Its already been so much fun keeping Kai out of it! He and Koen have fights about whether or not the lights should stay plugged in.

Talking with Santa

While at my mom's for Thanksgiving Koen got to see Santa. The day after Christmas Santa turns the lights on in the park, and talks to all the kids who line up to request presents. Koen has never talked to Santa in the past, he cries, but not this year. He was so excited he could hardly hold still in line. He wanted to tell Santa to get him Diesel 10 (a train car) for Christmas. When it was his turn he ran up there all by himself! He was so proud and excited when he was done. I was afraid he'd cry again, but he must be getting a little more confident as time goes on.

Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving with my family this year. We had a grand time watching my mom draw a picture on top of her head while playing Partiny. There was also lots of good food to eat. Koen and Kai sure enjoyed the attention they got since they were 2 of the 3 kids there. I keep telling my sister to have a cousin for my kids, but she won't listen! Oh well, more attention for them at family get togethers.

Someone Turned 4!

Koen had a birthday on the 21st of November. He turned 4! I can't believe how old and big he is getting. It seems like yesterday we were rushing to the hospital to have him. He was so excited for his birthday this year. It was the first year he really understood what was going on. He had a Thomas cake of course, and the toy Thomas on the cake was his favorite present of all! He played with that thing more than anything else he got that day. He got so many presents from everyone! THANKS! His birthday turned out so well, and so many came to celebrate with us.

Kai was laughing a lot this morning and so I decided to get it on video. It was so cute and funny!

Funny Koen

The other night Kai decided to distribute the grocery bags I keep in the kitchen all over the entire kitchen. When Koen got a little crazy, I asked him to go pick them up for something to do. There is the bag I keep them in and he was like "but mom I can't do it!" About 5 minutes later I see him hanging bags on every nob he could find in there. He was so excited that he got the bags picked up even if he didn't put them in the bag they belonged in. It was cute so I took pictures of his ingenious idea!

Happy Halloween

Here's Tyrell and the boys on Halloween. We took Koen trick-or-treating in town and he got bored after about an hour and begged to come home so not much candy, but oh well he doesn't need it!

Pumpkins

Tonight we carved our pumpkins (well Tyrell did really, while the rest of us watched). I waited to give Kai his bath because I wanted to see what he'd do with the pumpkins guts and seeds. He LOVED them! Koen was not a fan when he was introduced to it so I just figured Kai would give us weird looks and not want to touch. He tried eating it! It was funny! Koen decided to fill up the pumpkins as Tyrell cleaned them out so there was always new gunk to get out. He then tried to tell Tyrell exactly what to put on each pumpkin. He wanted one with a happy face, mad face, and then one like his picture from daycare. Tyrell did the first two, but put his own idea on the last one. I didn't take a picture of them completed so I will tomorrow and put it up.

Some Cute Pictures Of The Boys

I took these yesterday at my mom's house because I thought it would be fun to send to Daren, but they turned out so cute!

Our Family

Koen drew this adorable picture of our family. The big one is Tyrell and then I think it goes Kai, Mommy, and Koen. The thing under us is a mystery, but I thought it was cute and they actually look a little like people.

Crib Bedding

I thought it would be fun to make crib bedding for our baby girl when I saw some patterns for it. I never knew you could make crib bedding. I talked with my mom and she said she would help me so we went fabric shopping. So here is the fabric we've picked.

HER name

I have gotten quite a few questions about what we want to name this little PRINCESS we are going to invite into our family in a few months. So here it is.....Havyn Marie. We are pretty well set and decided on this name for about 4 years now, ever since I was pregnant with Koen so I doubt it will change unless she just doesn't look like a Havyn.

Here SHE is.....

The first picture she has her foot clear up to her head and she is chewing on her toes. She was like this pretty much the whole time we were getting the ultrasound. It was funny! She really didn't want us to know that she was a girl and it took the ultrasound tech a really long time to get her to uncross her legs. After beating my belly to death and having me roll to both sides she finally decided she would give us a peak. Tyrell is sporting the nice pink "it's a girl" bracelet at work tonight! He is really excited and so am I! She has two big brothers to protect her that I'm sure will LOVE her too!

Cross Your Fingers

Everyone cross your fingers that this baby will not be shy and show us what we all want to know tomorrow! I know I'll be disappointed if he/she doesn't show us, since I REALLY want to know! I probably won't sleep well tonight, let alone pay attention in class tomorrow I want to know so bad!

Pumpkins

Tyrell brought these pumpkins in from our garden today. We succeeded in growing few pumpkins for the first time ever!

Monster House

We did our yearly Halloween gingerbread house this afternoon. Tyrell and I bought it this morning and as soon as Koen got home he was on me about doing it, so it's done already. Koen calls houses that are all decked out or spooky looking monster houses. I think he got that from the movie monster house, but who knows. He made sure I bought some window clings that had a monster house on them and then he was only concerned with getting that particular cling up right away. I guess this gingerbread house could be his own little monster house since he was the one who did the most decorating.

Tyrell's Birthday

Sunday was Tyrell's birthday. He got a Tampa Bay Bucs cake that I think he really liked. That's his team for those of you who don't know. He also got a hat from my mom that was Tampa Bay Bucs, some boring pants from me, but don't worry I got him a new video game and a bag of jerky to go with it. Lots of family came to celebrate and we had a great time. I think Koen had the most fun since his cousins came.

Pumpkins

Last Saturday we were at the store getting some groceries and I saw some little pumpkins. The last couple years I've always let Koen paint one so I thought that would be the perfect activity for that afternoon. This time we bought 2, one for each boy. Kai fell asleep and I couldn't keep Koen from painting his pumpkins so Kai's ended up pink, Koen's new favorite color for some reason. Oh well, Kai will never know that he didn't get to get messy with finger-paint and that his brother painted both pumpkins.

Rabbits

We took Koen to the fair this week. He had fun riding rides and looking at animals. He LOVED the rabbits. We have no idea why, but he was way into the rabbits. It was cute. At the petting zoo he really wanted a rabbit and just one in particular. He sat there and stared at it and poked his figure in the cage to pet it and even tried to get it out of the cage. We tried to get him away by asking if he wanted to see puppies, but he had no interest in that. What a cutie! I thought only little girls liked rabbits this much, but I guess I was wrong.

On the Move and Into Everything

Kai is crawling and has been for a couple weeks now! He recently has gotten very good at it. We have to watch close to make sure he doesn't get in the bathroom or by the stairs.

An Announcement

Well I think pretty much everyone who reads this already knows this announcement, but there are a few who don't. SO for the big announcement. Koen and Kai are going to be big brothers, well Koen already is, but Kai will be. I am 14 weeks right now and the baby is due Feb. 22, 2010. Shocked!? Me too, don't worry! It will be fun though and Koen is so excited. I went to the doctor this morning and heard the heartbeat and the doctor said everything looks good. Still don't know why I lost 6 pounds in the last 4 weeks instead of gaining, but oh well. Koen really wants a girl this time so cross your fingers. This morning when I was driving to the doctor he told me, "Mommy you go the doctor and get that baby girl out". Too bad its not that easy! He also firmly believes he has a baby in his tummy too and that he needs to go to the doctor and get out. He is so funny! I hope he isn't crushed if its not a girl. With our track record it could easily be another boy. Whatever it is we will love it!

Kai's New Face

For some reason Kai has been making this face a lot lately! Especially when I feed him. He is a silly boy!

Stacey's Wedding and Cousin Fun

A couple of weeks ago Tyrell's sister got married. Koen thought it was great because he got to spend 3 days with his cousins. They played in the water among many other things. I don't have any pictures from the wedding, but I do have one sad one of Koen at the reception. He managed to trip and fall and hit his head on some bricks that were surrounding a tree. Poor kid! It scared me pretty good because he has never hurt himself this bad before. Turns out he's just fine he just had some nasty scabs and goose eggs on his head for about a week. They look pretty healed now.
