Well we started the year 2008 not knowing if or when we'd ever have another child. We are ending the year wishing he were here! This year has been quite the year at the Teeter house. For one thing we found out we were going to have another baby. We have finished 2 more semesters of school and both been accepted into the ISU Education Department. I have quit working all together and just go to school and be a mommy, which is so nice. Koen has grown so much and turned 3! He became potty trained this year, which trust me was a big feet on both his and my parts. We have turned the basement into the playroom I have been wanting for almost 2 years now and I still have toys upstairs, but it isn't a crazy disaster anymore. Oh and he can make as big of a mess as he wants and I don't have to look at it! We have remodeled the entire bathroom and retiled the Kitchen. Well I guess I shouldn't say we because Tyrell and his mom did the bathroom and Tyrell did the kitchen all by himself! Those are just a few highlights from our year. I am sure that 2009 holds a lot in store for us as well, especially since right off the bat we will be adding a new member to our family. His arrival is scheduled for Jan. 22, 2009 if I don't go into labor before that. I will try to keep you updated on his birth.

36 Weeks

Well today we are little over 36 weeks and have been to the hospital twice already! The first time was a while ago because I just felt funny and wanted to make sure everything was fine, which it was. This last time was this last Sunday. I went in having contractions and going into labor, which I wasn't sure I was, but it turned out that I was. They gave me a shot to stop the contractions because 36 weeks isn't considered far enough and since I was too far they didn't want to do the c-section just yet. They also found that I have a bladder infection which I found out can cause preterm labor, go figure. The shot was only suppose to work for 24-48 hours, but since they gave me antibiotics for the infection and had the shot by the time the shot wore off it seems the infection isn't causing preterm labor anymore. I guess this is a good thing, but I just want him out of me! At this point if he stays in just 5 more days he will be at the same point Koen was when he was delivered. I still have the cramping so hopefully the new little guy will come out soon!

Christmas

Our Christmas went well this year. This was the first year we stayed home and had family over to our house. We had Tyrell's sister and fiance, Stacey and Jacob, and his mom and then my parents were around for a while. We had a nice dinner and just sat around and enjoyed the day. Koen absolutely loved his train and surprisingly it was Tyrell and I waiting for him to wake up. Finally Tyrell went and banged on his door to wake him and then ran back to our room hoping he would come get us after he found his Santa present, but he didn't! He just started playing with it.

Koen's First Christmas Program

Last night Koen's daycare/preschool put on a Christmas program for the parents. I was worried that he wouldn't participate and things actually looked good for the first song and poem. Low and behold there was an upset boy behind him and Koen looked at him and boom the tears began. He wouldn't calm down so he ended up hanging out in the audience with us. Then Santa came and Koen followed him to his chair and stood there. I was shocked, I thought he'd be scared. When we got him to leave he was like I want my train! That is when I figured out why he wasn't scared, he thought that Santa had brought his train then, so we had to explain to him that he doesn't bring his Christmas present until Christmas.

A Big Boy Bed!

Koen got a big boy bed this week! I talked to my dad a couple months ago about some beds they have from when I was growing up and asked if I could have them since Koen is getting too big for his toddler bed. Not to mention Koen broke his toddler bed in more than one place. He said I could have them, but he wanted to paint them first. So I picked a color and he went to work. The first one is done and since we don't need the second one for a while I won't be asking about it. My mom brought it down with her this week and Koen was so excited! I got him a Wallie comforter for it and that made it even better since he loves Wallie.

Our Holiday Train

Well like our Halloween gingerbread house we usually do something similar for Christmas. Last year we found a gingerbread Christmas tree to put together and decorate. This year we found a train and since Koen has a HUGE obsession with trains we did that this year. He was so excited and every day he thinks he needs to sit right on top of the table to look at the train. I keep having to remind him that it is just to look at and not touch. I am sure if I let him it would be destroyed because he would try to play with it like he does his other trains. On a side note he makes sure to tell me everyday that Santa is going to bring him a train on Christmas (good thing that is what is hiding downstairs, huh?).

The Fort

I came home from class the other day to find a big fort in the living room and two cute boys hiding in it. This is one of Tyrell and Koen's hobbies you could say. They love to build forts or as Koen calls them houses and they love to hide from me. Last time they build a fort they would hide in there and run out and spank me and then run as fast as they could back to the fort. I have no idea what I am going to do when there is three of them and only one of me.
