Koen's First Sunburn

Koen was playing with his friend Maddison in her pool the other day and me (bad mom) totally forgot sunscreen, even though it was in his backpack the entire time. Now he is red and I feel so bad! I think Maddison may have got it worse though, from what her mom said.

Playing Outside At Grandma Snyder's

Well Koen has recently been able to play outside in the backyard at Grandma Snyder's and LOVES it! My parents got rid of their dog and now can spend more time outside relaxing and we don't have to worry about the big dog crushing Koen while he's running around back there. He has discovered Grandma has sidewalk chalk and he has completely painted her back patio with it. Kai also enjoyed the grass last time we were there. That kid loves grass, which I find a little strange for a baby, but whatever.

Berry Pizza

Today Hadley and the kids came up and of course Maddison and Koen had a blast as usual! They played in the pool, went to lunch, and made berry pizza. Well mostly Maddy put berries on while Koen shoved his in his mouth.

Uncle Daren

Koen found Uncle Daren the life size cut out at Grandma's the other day. This is what he did with him! It was so cute!

4th of July

We had a very interesting 4th of July! Here they do a whole carnival and food deal before the fireworks. So we packed up and left at about 6 and got dinner and then bought Koen some tickets for rides. While he was on his first ride it started to rain just a bit. Then all of a sudden it was like a down pour and then the hail started. We ran for shelter and realized after about 10 minutes and being soaked to the bone it wasn't going to let up. As soon as the hail slowed the boys and I ran for the car while Tyrell went to find his sister Stacey and her boyfriend, Jacob. We got home and changed and by that point Kai was exhausted so I ended up staying home while the others went back after the rain stopped. They said they had a great time and took pictures of Koen for me. I guess Koen LOVED the fireworks! Tyrell said he was screaming and cheering. He was dead asleep when they finally made it home after waiting 40 minutes to get onto the road.

What Happens When Mom Says The Stove Is Hot

He put his own bandaid on and was very proud of it

A couple weeks ago Koen and I made playdough on the stove and when I took the pan off I told Koen it was very hot and not to touch it. So what does he do? What every kid seems to have to learn the hard way, he touches it. He received some blisters and a lot of pain, and I don't think he will be doing that again any time soon!

5 Years!

We have officially been married 5 Years!! It certainly doesn't feel like it has been that long, but yesterday was our 5th anniversary. We have both changed a lot in those 5 years, some for the good and some not, but hey I guess the bad things aren't important enough to matter. Tyrell could care less if I gained 50 pounds are chopped my hair off (or at least that's what he says), he must know what's good for him. We have accomplished a lot together. I was telling him yesterday that 5 years ago I never would have dreamed we could own a home, have 2 BOYS, and still be in college. For the first I never in a million years thought we would have our own house until we were done with school, but we bought it 2 years into marriage! For the second if you look at Tyrell's family which is full of girls you'd be shocked that we have 2 boys too. And the last well that's just the way things go, maybe when we have been married 8 we can say we have both graduated from college. The thing is at least we haven't given up on the dream yet. Anyway as for how I feel about 5 years... I LOVE Tyrell more than I did the day I married him and look forward to the years to come. I love watching him with our boys as they adore each other. I don't think he ever thought he wouldn't have a daughter by now either and I think it makes him proud to have his boys because they get down and dirty with him. He is awesome with them! He is also awesome when it comes to helping me with things, if I ask. He probably cooks more food in this house than I ever do and he goes to work all day. I appreciate all he does for us!
