It has been WAY too long!

Well Tyrell found a teaching job back in September! I just haven't found the time with student teaching, kids, and Tyrell being far away to post about it. He was offered the job on his birthday. What a nice birthday present! He is teaching 8th grade science, and so far he is liking it! He is at an awesome school. The hard part is that he is four and a half hours away from us. He was able to find us a house that had everything we were looking for at a price we could afford, and we moved this last weekend! I love the house, he couldn't have done better! I am so pleased that he did this all on his own. I think he was a little concerned that I wouldn't like it, but I love it! I am staying with my parents for the next month while I finish up my student teaching then we can all be together again. We are super excited to start this new chapter of our lives together!

Funny Kai

Kai is on a mommy kick lately, so this mornings conversation with him went like this:

Me: Kai what's with this mommy stage lately? Can you find your Daddy stage?
Kai (looking at Tyrell): I can't find it. You find it.

Just now Tyrell gave Kael a cheese ball to munch on, and of course Kael made a huge mess so Tyrell told him "Kael you are a sick puppy," and Kai goes "we don't have a puppy."

He cracks me up!

Zoo Trip

We took the kids to the zoo a couple weeks ago, and they LOVED it! Havyn was super impressed with the birds, and really that is all she was really interested in. The boys on the other hand were not all impressed with the birds, but loved the penguins. Every time we go past water now, Kai is just certain there is penguins in the water, and he will fight with you if you tell him otherwise. Koen has been giving anyone and everyone who will listen a tour of what he saw at the zoo with this map brochure he got from them. When we left he tried to return it to the lady in the ticket window, and to his surprise they said he could keep it! You would have thought they'd given him $100, he was so excited. His poor great grandma has been the recipient of most of his ramblings about the different animals at the zoo. Secretly, I think she has enjoyed these conversations, and she will probably read this, so I am sure I will find out.

Kael Got Blessed (finally)

Amongst Tyrell student teaching and working at Texas Roadhouse Kael's blessing got postponed until his student teaching was completed, and he had more chances to have a Sunday off. Now we have been to church so much they even asked us to speak next week. I'm not really looking forward to that, but at least we have been around enough to be noticed, and get a chance to get Kael blessed.  We had so many family and friends come to support us, and be a part of this special experience for Kael. Kael is the first of our children to not cry through his blessing, and looked like an angel, as my mother said. He is such a sweet baby, even through all the fussy times he has. He is very loved by his parents, extended family, and especially his siblings. This morning I got woke up by Koen telling me that Kael was poopy. I asked him where he was, and he was like "ummm hims in my room, but don't worry I didn't drag him there". Sure enough he was there watching Sesame Street with Koen.  It was so cute. Koen went in there and told him that mom was going to come change his butt in the cutest little voice.

Havyn

So the other day I was looking at Havyn and thinking that she has grown so fast! It seems like her time as a baby was so short. I don't remember a whole lot, which I found strange, but then I remember that since she was born we have moved twice and had another baby. Life has definitely been a ride the last 18 months. She has finally started to walk, and is starting to talk more and more. She still doesn't say a whole lot you can really understand, but as I found out the other day she knows way more than she wants us to know she knows. She and my niece Pyper were playing on the floor, well actually they were fighting over some keys, and Havyn got all made and said "No, let go!" I had never heard her say let go, and the clarity was so distinct. I think she is hiding a few words in that cute little body of hers. I also look at her and almost can't believe the way her life started out. She was so tiny and sickly! Now you would never guess it!

What We Have Been Up To

The boys of the house are planning a boy party for tomorrow night, and I guess Havy and I aren't invited, but OH WELL we will paint toe nails and do girl stuff then! I am sure their boy party will look something like the following photo since that's how they planned whatever boy stuff they're going to do.

I have been trying my hand a little couponing, and so far I think I have done pretty well for us. This is a picture of the current stockpile we have going, minus the stack of diapers, paper towels, finish dishwasher detergent, and toilet paper.

We also found Kael a bumbo for a great deal, and it's purple, but I really don't care because it makes him happy!

This is him as I made dinner tonight, and I know you aren't supposed to stick these things on the counter, but I swear the entire time I was standing right next to him!
Havyn is starting to stand up and take some steps finally, but isn't totally on the move yet (well walking anyway).
And for Kai, well he is still my little helper, even though sometimes it's quite annoying, but tonight I decided whatever, it was cute so he stood on a chair in his pull up and helped fix dinner. Yes, I do know that it was probably dangerous as well, but no one got hurt so everything is just great!
Koen is just getting excited about going to Kindergarten in the fall, and is constantly singing his abc's, but apparently there is two "K"s because he skips J and sings "KK". He LOVES his Kael though, and was singing to him as we got ready to go to church yesterday while he was waiting in his car seat (which he HATES). Kael stopped crying, and I thought it was super cute! He's a great kid, and I really can't believe his is old enough to start Kindergarten. I still remember rushing to the hospital in a panic to end up in an emergency c-section with him!
We are so blessed to have each and every one of these little faces in our home! Life is definitely not boring, that's for sure!

Comparison Time

 Tyrell

Kael

For quite some time we have been debating who Kael could possibly look like, and this morning I was pulling out pictures and Koen and I both looked at this one of Tyrell and said that looks like Kael. What do you think? Surprisingly I really think he looks like his daddy, and Tyrell keeps asking who he belongs to.

And I would have to say that Havyn also looks like her daddy, probably the most of any of our kids. I do see myself a bit in her smile though.

It's debatable who she looks like, I can see us both, and I always thought she was totally her daddy. As for the other boys, well Koen is debatable too, and Kai well I don't have any pictures of my brother here, but he looks very Snyder. I have heard Koen looks like a Snyder too, quite often lately, so I will look into that when I get a hold of some more pictures.
