Our Garden
We have been so excited about being able to plant a garden this year, and so far things are growing well! Our berries keep getting eaten by birds though, so we are going to get netting to put over them. We have eaten our first batch of peas, and a couple beans (which are getting really close to ready), and some carrots. I wanted to can the beans, but as I was talking to my mom last night, I discovered that it will break the glass top on my stove if I use a pressure cooker on it, so that was disappointing. I am going to try to freeze dry my peas, and now possibly beans, by using dry ice and a Styrofoam cooler. I found some instructions online, so I don't see why not. We just got the pumpkins in the ground a couple of weeks ago so they are starting to come up now. Tyrell has made the garden his new hobby, and he spends a lot of time out there. It has given him something to do now that school is out for the summer.
