We were so looking forward to spring break this year! Tyrell had the week off from school and had requested the days off at Texas Roadhouse and for once in our lives we were going to do something fun. Unfortunately, as the reality of the way my surgery had made me feel set in we had to cancel our reservations. We had planned to take the kids to an aquarium and zoo in Oregon. The kids were really looking forward to seeing the animals. I don't think they even grasped the idea that it was a very long drive. We were disappointed, but by Wed. I started to feel up to doing something and I could tell the kids really needed to get out of the house, and so did we! We decided that Salt Lake was only half the amount of time in the car and even though the aquarium and zoo there aren't nearly as big or neat as the ones we had planned to go to it would be something we could probably handle. We stayed 1 night, and by the time that we were heading home everyone was ready, and we no longer regretted canceling the other trip. The kids had a blast, but got tired so fast! I also found the first day at the aquarium that I was in no shape to walk the zoo the next day. We were only there for about and hour and a half and I was worn out and hurting. Luckily the zoo rents electronic chair devices (for way too much money in my opinion). I looked like an idiot and people kept giving me weird looks, but I kept thinking that they had no idea and at least my kids were having a good time and I wasn't paying for it by hurting later. Tyrell said he'd pay double just to watch me ride around on that thing again. Of course he would! The kids like taking turns riding on my lap as well. Here are some pictures of our fun.
And along with all that fun we got to see Aunt Heather, Uncle David, Pyper, and Dax because they live so close (but yet so far) from Salt Lake! I held Dax for as long as they let me and LOVED every minute! I passed him off when it felt like something exploded in his britches because well, I have done my share of that!
