Slip 'N Slide

The kids have been begging for some kind of water fun for the summer, and really I have been waiting to go see family and take the pool my mom has at her house from last year. Anyway, we were at Target the other night and found this slip 'n slide for $4.99 so we told the kids that we could get that for now. They were so excited, they wanted to come home and play on it right then. It was like 8:00 at night, though so we told them then next day they could use it. Sadly, the next day was super windy and they had to stare at it all day long. The next day was perfect, though, and they had the time of their little lives!

Kael is my little helper

This is the cutest thing ever! I was shocked when I saw him do it the first time. Silly baby knows where the silverwear goes! I know the video is sideways, and I don't know how to fix it so oh well.

Home Date Nights

Tyrell and I have started to do at home dates once a week so that we don't have to pay for a babysitter and the cost of the date. We have been trying to find more than just watching a move to do. Last night we made our own ice cream and played a game called would you rather that I printed off the internet. I had tons of fun, and it was free!

Our Garden

We have been so excited about being able to plant a garden this year, and so far things are growing well! Our berries keep getting eaten by birds though, so we are going to get netting to put over them. We have eaten our first batch of peas, and a couple beans (which are getting really close to ready), and some carrots. I wanted to can the beans, but as I was talking to my mom last night, I discovered that it will break the glass top on my stove if I use a pressure cooker on it, so that was disappointing. I am going to try to freeze dry my peas, and now possibly beans, by using dry ice and a Styrofoam cooler. I found some instructions online, so I don't see why not. We just got the pumpkins in the ground a couple of weeks ago so they are starting to come up now. Tyrell has made the garden his new hobby, and he spends a lot of time out there. It has given him something to do now that school is out for the summer.

Father's Day 2012

This year for Father's Day I wanted to do something a little more meaningful for Tyrell. Usually I just get him whatever new video game or Tampa Bay Bucs thing he wants. He still got Tampa Bay Bucs sunglasses, but we also made this sign for him. I had a lot of fun painting it and putting the saying on, and he must have liked it because he got a little teary when he opened it.  I just hope he knows that we appreciate him for all he does for our family, and that we love him so much!

8 years

Recently Tyrell and I had our 8 year anniversary. Every year I am amazed at how fast time can fly! I really don't feel older than the day I married him, and it doesn't seem that long ago, but somehow 8 years have come and gone. We enjoyed the day, and gave each other gifts we made. Tyrell made me a bottle of "happy pills" since I am always saying I need to take a happy pill. You know for the moments in life when everything just seems to go wrong. Each pill has a happy memory or something sweet he loves about me inside the capsule. He said he bought a bottle of cinnamon pills and dumped out all the cinnamon and replaced it with little pieces of paper. I love them, and I have no idea what they all say, so when I open it it really does bring my mood up! I made him a 52 reasons why I love you book. I used a deck of cards, and put each reason on a card. I had lots of fun making and he seemed to like it (like he would tell me he didn't). Once the kids had gone to bed we ordered Texas Roadhouse to go, and had our own candle light dinner at home. I though it was more fun than actually going to the restaurant! Not to mention cheaper, since we had our own drinks and no fee to pay the babysitter. I look for to the next year with him, and all the rest to come!

Summer Fun!

Our kids had some fun in the sprinkler today. They don't have their pool yet because I am waiting until my little brother and his wife have their baby to head to my parent's and take the pool they had last year. They seemed to have fun anyway! I know that Koen isn't anywhere to be seen in these, but I promise he was there, just never got in the pictures. I do have some videos with him, but they won't upload.
